These Workshops are an opportunity to join the Weathervane staff and community for a hands on weekend of recording and mixing in a professional studio.
You can come for just a tracking or mixing day, or stay with us for the entire weekend as we make a brand new song from start to finish! Ask questions along the way and learn the processes and techniques we use for Shaking Through and every day in the studio.
To attend one of these workshops, you can purchase a day ticket or weekend pass (limited quantities available) or sign up now for an annual Event Access Membership that includes entrance to this and all other workshops, studio concerts, wrap parties, and any other Weathervane Music events for the next 12 months.
Anya VanRose, singer-songwriter of Canton Ohio, has been writing songs since the age of 18. Instead of rehearsing for college guitar recitals, she found herself sitting on a piano bench writing songs in the practice rooms of Kent State. In 2011, she took these songs to the stage fronting indie rock group Queen Bee and The Keepers.
A collection of fleeting moments, Anya’s lyrics are influenced by personal experience. Her songs are strikingly vivid: quiet hospital rooms, hotel balconies, final conversations. Her songs are full of questions sung with a voice that radiates both pain and promise. From inhale to exhale the melodies shape the body of work she is working on for her newest project.
Today, Anya is joined by guitarist John King, bassist Austin Wolfe, and drummer Joe Prestier. They are currently looking forward to teaming up with Weathervane Music and Realgrey Records to release her single “Flies” in the summer of 2019.
