ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
WEATHERVANE MUSIC
is a non-profit whose mission is to connect people through the practice of supporting, engaging with, and creating music.
SHAKING THROUGH
This series brings artists into the studio and documents the entire recording process, including interviews with the musicians, curators, and audio production team. With this series we are committed to enabling self expression and seek to inspire and educate the community about the creative process, and the art and science of recording music.
Event Access members are invited to attend our Shaking Through “Wrap Parties,” where we gather after a session to listen back to the new song we just recorded and celebrate our collaborative effort with other members, donors, and past Shaking Through artists.
REMIX / EDUCATION
Weathervane members can download the multi-track raw audio and stems from these sessions to practice their mixing skills, make their own creative remixes, and share their work back with the community for feedback and support.
The recorded material from these sessions, along with tutorial documents and lesson plans, are made available to audio engineering and mixing programs in universities and high-schools throughout the Philadelphia area and around the world.
WORKSHOPS / CONCERTS
Every other month, Weathervane conducts recording and mixing workshops where music fans and production enthusiasts of all levels get together to learn and practice the techniques and processes we use every day in the studio. The raw audio files from these sessions are also available to paid members! RSVP as an Event Access member or purchase tickets a-la-carte.
Weathervane also hosts private concerts at Miner Street, featuring past and feature Shaking Through artists. In addition to these intimate studio concerts, we hold residencies at local Philadelphia music venues where we put together shows that highlight important up and coming artists.
