The Man Suits - Spirit, Oh Spirit

Assembled by curator and producer, Scott McMicken of the band Dr. Dog, The Man Suits are a one-time collaboration of friends and supporters of the Shaking Through series, featuring members of Dr. Dog, MeWithoutYou, BC Camplight, Elvis Perkins in Deerland, along with backup vocals from the spirited Philadelphia vocal choir, The Silver Ages. The band led up by singer, Aaron Weiss, arranges, performs and records a song Scott wrote for the project called "Spirit, Oh, Spirit."

Assembled by curator Scott McMicken, The Man Suits are a one-time collaboration of friends of the Shaking Through series:
Brothers Aaron and Michael Weiss are the respective frontman and guitarist of beloved experimental rock band mewithoutYou. Since forming in 2001, the Philadelphia-based band has amassed an intensely loyal national fan base, released four LPs on Tooth & Nail Records, and toured the country in their 1976 vegetable oil-powered tour bus.
Brian Christinzio is the mastermind behind the music of BC Camplight and a featured artist in Weathervane's 2009 Project Series. His unique brand of "pop with soul" has won him international critical acclaim, while its complex and eccentric yet indisputably charming style has established him as one of Philadelphia's most beloved indie artists.
Charlie Hall leads The Silver Ages, a Philadelphia-based ensemble assembled from the city's musical creme de la creme. The cast of characters includes members of The War on Drugs (who also joined The Man Suits recording), The Capitol Years, National Eye, Windsor for the Derby, Buried Beds, Make A Rising and many more.
Nick Kinsey plays drums and clarinet and sings backup for acclaimed folk-rock outfit Elvis Perkins in Dearland. The Manhattan native has studied with jazz drumming masters Billy Martin and Bob Moses and spent six months studying with Havana's masters in Cuba.

Bassist and co-lead singer Toby Leaman started Dr. Dog with life-long friend McMicken in 1999, and soon after Zack Miller joined in on keys. In the decade since, the celebrated psych-pop group and Philadelphia darlings have gradually built a strong national profile through inspired live shows and consistently exceptional releases. Their newest, Shame, Shame, was released on ANTI Records on April 6th.
